Welcome to the Vertafore Portal Server community page! This is the place to come to learn about this exciting new offering from Vertafore.
It's all about speed to market.
Vertafore Portal Server is a tool based product that enables P&C carrier staff to very quickly expose back-office content and functionality to agent facing web portals. Portal Server’s use of a combined tool and runtime web service approach to this problem results in extremely short time to market. Business analysts use the toolset to create templates defining what fields they want to group together in their web portal. These templates can be combined into workflows, to achieve business transactions such as real time rating and submission. Rules add business intelligence to the workflows, allowing for customized flows based on the business situation. The web service methods return html markup for the templates and workflow steps – this html can then be styled to match the look and feel of your web portal.
Because Portal Server produces html that can is consumed by your website, the product can be seamlessly integrated with existing web portals, or be used to provide content to a new web portal built from the ground up. New lines of business can be added to the portal by your own staff – no expensive and time consuming contracting with vendors. Similarly, as the backend system changes, these changes are rolled out to the web portal using the Portal Server toolkit – all done by your in-house staff.
The use of standards ensures that Portal Server can be used by multiple technologies at the your site - .Net or Java based websites can use the content and rich feature set provided by Portal Server. Flexible third party integrations are achieved by the support of custom workflow activities. These activities call out to the third party provider and integrate the returned content for decision processing and display on the web portal.
