AMS offers download capabilities for personal lines download for the following lines of business: Homeowners, Auto, Dwelling Fire, Watercraft, Umbrella, Inland Marine and Package. AMS supports the ACORD AL3 format and standards for all download functionality. Carriers wishing to do download with AMS, should be ACORD certified for download.
AMS provides carriers with download specifications that include AL3 hiearchies and data matrices. The hierarchies show what AMS supports for the data structure for each line of business. The data matrices show what data fields within the structure are supported, as well as what is required in the download processing. Carriers should use these documents in conjunction when developing thier download for AMS systems. AMS is also in the process of developing mapping specs for carriers so they can see where the download maps on the system screens.
Flood download is now available in download to AMS systems as well on the following system versions: AMS Sagitta v.7.5, AMS360 v.3.0, Prime v.5.0 and InStar v.9.1.5. Flood download is not available on AfW. AMS provides flood download specifications to carriers and their flood vendors.
AMS Download Certification Tool
AMS is developing an automated data validation process known as the Download Certification Tool. This tool is designed to expedite the certification process and is offered to carriers through a service agreement with AMS. Once access is provided, a carrier can login to the Download Certification Tool and submit their data, choose an AMS system to validate their data for, and receive a report of the items that need correction prior to sending the data to AMS for final certification. The tool is designed to reduce the back and forth error reporting that occurs during a manual certification process, thus moving certifications through AMS at a faster rate. Carriers wanting access to the certification tool can send a request to Download@amsservices.com, or contact your carrier account rep.
